Sri Chithra Arts Gallery

The Sri Chithra Art Gallery was opened to the public by the erstwhile Maharaja of Travancore Sri Chithira Thirunal on the 25th of September 1935. The Gallery owes it's origin to Dr.J.H.Cousins, the Art Advisor to Government of Travancore. It has a rich collection representing the various genres of paintings in India along with a few from other parts of Asia.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in India. It is said to have been established in the year 1857 by Maharaja of Travancore. In a modernization project of 1995, this zoo got a makeover and its old enclosures were replaced with spacious naturalistic enclosures. The zoo is home to about 82 species of animals that include the Lion-tailed Macaque.
