Getting there

By Air
The nearest airport is located at Rajahmundry; about 65 kms from the city and has services to Hyderabad, Chennai and Visakhapatnam. Kingfisher, Jet Airways and Spice Airlines operates here. The nearest International Airport is at Visakhapatnam at a distance of 145 kms and has the services of all major airline operators to all big cities in the country.

By Rail
Kakinada has four railway stations namely Kakinada Town Junction, Kakinada Port, Kakinada Port New, Sarpavaram. Kakinada is also connected to the Samalkot Junction (12 kms) which is on the Chennai-Howrah trunk line, where almost all express trains stop to connect Kakinada with important places of the country.

By Road
Good roads connect Kakinada with all the places within the state and rest of the country. NH-216 from Kakinada to Suryapeta connects Kakinada to Hyderabad.

Popularly known as the 'Fertilizer City', Kakinada is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh and is home to two fertilizer producers. Famous for its pilgrimage sites, Kakinada boasts of many temples like Draksharamam Temple which is situated on the eastern part of Godavari River, Sri Satyanarayana Swami Temple, one of the most popular holy shrines and many more. This temple reflects the Dravidian style architecture. Also known as the 'Second Madras', Kakinada is a base for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. Kakinada also consists of a famous Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, where tourists get to view animals like jackals, sea turtles and birds such as sea gulls, spines and flamingos. Kakinada is a part of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and also consists of the 2nd largest mangrove forests.
