Hosur is one of the important cities of southern India, with a history of over 800 years. Referred to as the 'Little England', Hosur has become the center of attraction because of the industrial development, beautiful surroundings and cool, pleasant climate. The town houses a number of industries right from abrasives, automobiles, bakery, wielding, wire mesh to granite. Key corporates like TVS Motors, Ashok Leyland, Titan industries etc. have their manufacturing units based in Hosur. The Bangalore-Hosur highway has also been witnessing a lot of development over the last few years. The Thorapalli Village here is a small picturesque village known to be the home of the first Governor General of independent India, Rajaji. He Hill Temple is a famous religious site here. The temple's presiding deity is Thiru Chandirachoodeshwarar (a name of Lord Shiva). The panoramic view from this hill is enchanting. A natural attraction in Hosur is the Hogenakal Falls, located across river Cauvery.
