Sabarmati Ashram, well known as the residence of Mahatma Gandhi, it is located on the banks of the Sabarmati River. It is known for its Dandi March movement initiated by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1930.

Sidi Sayed Mosque, which was built in 1573, is a beautifully carved mosque with ten stone latticework windows. Akshardham Temple is a sacred and religious centre for Hindus. This beautifully carved temple houses idol of Swaminarayan, the Hindu lord. Calico Museum of Textiles is one of the most renowned and one of the most visited places in the city, showcasing a unique collection of handicrafts and textiles, some of which date back to 17th and 18th centuries.

Adalaj Vav, an architectural marvel, it was built by Queen Rudabai in 1499 A.D. The walls of the well depict the carvings of flowers, birds and fish. This step well not only conserves water for drinking all through the year but also works as a cooling chamber in scorching summers.

Kankaria, the biggest lake in Ahmedabad was built by Sultan Kutubuddin in the 15th century. This lake is an ideal place for meditation, yoga, jogging or a brisk walk.
